Day 14 declutter challenge

Today I tackled the closet. In my 15 min session, I:

  • Pulled out 2 throw blankets to wash then donate (Goodwill)
  • Found an old set of shoe insoles (trash)
  • Picked 2 old DVDs to donate (Goodwill)- I still have a few more that are rare or include memories (old dance shows etc that I plan to save digitally)
  • Put 2 books in the donation pile (Goodwill)
  • Found 2 tennis rackets and wiped them down for future use
  • Pulled a bag of old comic books and memories to sort through
  • Vacuumed one corner of the closet (I’m hoping to slowly clean as I go so by the end of the week I’ve vacuumed and dusted the entire closet)

I learned: I originally intended to do the 15 minutes decluttering daily after breakfast but I’m finding my motivation and schedule changes so I’m not being strict about that. Today I slept late and woke up motivated so I did it before breakfast. A few days last week, time was tight and I did it when I got home. I do love getting it done early in the day as the feeling of accomplishment gives me a boost for the rest of the day.
