Day 6 declutter challenge

I have to admit: it was hard to motivate today. With all the stuff I donated out of the way this morning, I was tempted to move on to other projects. What worked to keep focused on this goal was remembering that I want simplicity and ease at a deeper level. Although lovely, the clear desk and entryway are just the start of my goals for my home and life. There’s still plenty to do.

After much foot-dragging, I:

  • Went through the many papers that were piled on top of the box on top of the file cabinet (!)
  • I recycled a few I no longer need
  • Most of them went into their proper file folders – I’ll need to go through the files in individual in an upcoming 15-minute sprint

Since the file cabinet is a big project, today’s progress didn’t feel like much, but it did free up the space for me to dive into each file which will be helpful.

What I learned: some days progress is about setting the foundation for future progress. It may seem slow but it’s still movement in the right direction.
